Grey Floral Dress

Dress- Marshalls    Shoes- Target    Handbag- Louis Vuitton   Sunglasses- GUESS

I love this dress so much. I picked it up about a month ago from Marshalls, for our trip to NYC a few weeks ago. I wore it for our Anniversary dinner at Buddakan. (yes, that's the restaurant from the movie Sex in the City, lol) The food was amazing!  I highly recommend going there if you are in New York City. It's such a gorgeous restaurant too.

I fell in love with the beautiful floral pattern on this dress- it's just so pretty. I paired it with my nude heels from Target which are so comfortable.

I am so glad I brought my LV Neverfull bag with me.  It was perfect to carry my bigger items like my camera and sweater because I always get cold in restaurants with the AC.

I have another outfit I wore for our second dinner that I will be posting later this week, so stay tuned.

I linked a few other similar items that I love below! Have a great week!

Getting Pampered Thanks to Groupon!

Being a mom can get so busy and tiring, so every month I like to get out of the house for some "Me" time. Making sure to find time for yourself I feel is so important. It helps you re-charge. I don't even need to be gone long, just an hour does the trick. I'm a girl who loves a good deal, so I always check out Groupon first to see if I can save some money.

I love Groupon. I use it all the time. I can always count on them to have a good Groupon running when I need it. There is so much of Health, Beauty & Wellness Groupons to find on Groupon. I never have a hard time finding anything.

I like to rotate the services each month. There is always so much to choose from. One month I will get a facial, next month I will go for a massage, the following month I will either get a pedicure or manicure etc. I even find it fun to plan a girls night, and ask a few friends to join me. :-)

Groupon has awesome getaways and restaurant deals too. Perfect for either a family trip or a date night! I also love Groupon Coupons to save money too because there is no membership required.

If you have never used Groupon before, I highly suggest trying it. It's super easy to use, and you can always count on  good savings. Sign up for their email, so you can be the first to know about new deals that come up. Visit their website here

Our Stay at the Park Lane Hotel in NYC

Every year around this time my husband and I go to NYC for our anniversary. We have gone the past 3 years in a row, and we went again last weekend to celebrate 8 years together.

Flying to NYC from Toronto is so quick. It's only a 1 1/2 hour flight gate to gate. So less than 1 hour in the air, which makes it a great place to go for the weekend to celebrate something special.

We would usually stay close to Times Square because that's where we wanted to end up at the end of the night, but this time we wanted something a little quieter. We choose the Park Lane Hotel which is across the street from Central Park.

We stayed in a Premier Park View Junior Suite on the 44 floor, and OMG our view was AMAZING!!!! Beautiful view of Central Park, Upper East Side and the Upper West Side of Manhattan. It was by far the best view I have even seen in a hotel room.

The room was so spacious too. It had a King bed, a desk, a couch and a little sitting area.

If you have ever been to NYC, you know all about extra room charges that can sometimes be added to your bill. Well at the Park Lane Hotel, they have a room charge as well......... but we LOVED it!!

Each room is charged $35 a day which includes:
- Hors d'oeuvres, wine, champagne, beer, bottled water, soft drinks and assorted snacks from 5-9pm in the Park Room overlooking Central Park

-Wi-Fi  for up to 6 device connections

-All local, long distance and international phone calls

-Use of the Business Center, including printing documents

-Use of the newly-renovated Fitness Centre which is open 24 hours a day

Isn't that amazing?! So worth the $35 a day.

I would stay at this hotel again in a heart beat. This hotel was amazing and the staff was excellent. We couldn't have left happier.

P.S.  Lady Gaga lives a couple of doors down from the Park Lane Hotel.

Cream Dress

One of the main reasons I picked up this dress was because of the strips of mesh that went across my chest and over my shoulders. I thought it looked super cute. I also love the length and also how comfortable it is.

I snatched it up at Marshalls a couple of weeks ago for only $39.99, which is a great buy. I paired it with my Tory Burch bag and my beige fringe heels from Target.

If you can't find the dress anymore at Marshalls or my Tory Burch hang bag, I linked some similar ones down below. I also linked some similar heels too for all you Canadians that can't shop at Target anymore :(

Skinperfect Primer by Dermalogica

I was so excited to try the new Skinperfect Primer from Dermalogica for 2 reasons. 1- I have never used a primer on my face before - only on my eye lids for eye shadow. Number 2- I have been itching to try something from the AGE Smart line.

There is so much about this primer that I love. I couldn't believe how smooth it goes on and how light weight it feels on my skin. I also love that it has an spf 30 which is a huge bonus because my daily moisturizer and foundation has nothing. (I know, that's terrible)

Being that the primer is part of the AGE Smart line, it's acts as more than just a primer as it's treating the signs of aging too. It's brightening my skin, and smooth's away fine lines.

To apply it is simple. First, I make sure I wash my face and add my daily moisturiser. Next, I apply a small amount of the Skinperfect Primer all over my face and neck. Then I add my foundation. Or if you wanted to wear it alone, you can as well. It's tinted and has pearl powder so it gives you a beautiful glow.

I absolutely love the look and feel of my skin from using this product. My foundation goes on so much smoother now, and gives me such a flawless look.

Creating a Magic Theme Birthday Party!

My son turned 5 at the end of June, and for his birthday party he requested it to be a Magic Theme.

Since he wanted to invite most of his class, I decided to rent the same community centre I rented for both my kids last year. If you are interested in either a "Ballerina Theme birthday" or a "Construction Theme birthday" I have linked them here and here!

Planning this party was pretty easy. I knew the colours were going to be Black, Red and White. So, I went out to Dollar Tree and purchased the table clothes, balloons, cups, and plates all in the theme colours.

I had an idea to make the plates look like magic hats, so I just cut some black construction paper into strips, and added it to the tops of the plates. Then, I added a smaller white strip underneath that. To finish them off, I cut out bunny ears and placed them above the black strip as if they were popping out of the hats. The kids loved them!

I also made some magic wands for the kids as well. For those, I picked up some wooden dowels from the Dollar Tree and added some black electrical tape around them. Then, I cut some white file folder labels for the ends.

For some extra décor for the tables, I purchased  some playing cards from Dollarama and scattered them on the tables. I also added some black hats from Party City and filled them with chips.

I continued the Black, Red and White colours to the dessert table as well. I picked up a presentation board from the Dollar Tree and wrapped it with a black table cloth. Then, I cut pieces of a red table cloth and added it to the top and sides of the board to make it look like a curtain

I purchased a Magic Theme Party Package from Etsy that consisted of the "Abra Cadabra" sign, water bottle labels, tent cards, and cupcake toppers that I just cut out and placed on the tables.

I had custom cookies made that were decorated  to look like playing cards, and magic hats with bunnies on top. I also added cupcakes and candies that were black and red to match the theme.

Of course a Magic theme party wouldn't be complete without having a Magician, so I hired one for an hour for entertainment for the kids. I used Scott Dietrich, see his website here. He was amazing with the kids. His magic show was about 45 mins in length and got the kids involved with the tricks. Once the show was over, he gets the birthday boy or girl to help make a rabbit appear. All the kids then get to pet the rabbit one by one. He also made a balloon creation for each child to keep.

For the loot bags, I basically did the same thing as the plates that resembled magic hats. I made them appear as though a bunnies ears were sticking of the bag, and I filled them with toys and candy for the kids to take home.

The party was a huge success, all the kids loved it. Every time I looked over at my son, he had a big smile on his face. He had so much fun with his friends. I'm so happy it turned out well. Another birthday filled with many memories to remember.
