Searching for the perfect winter jacket!

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day for the middle of October, I decided to take my kids to the park. As we were walking back home, I thought the day was actually a big tease. As I look now at the weather app on my phone it sadly shows the temperature is slowly dropping which means that nasty weather is coming.

This year I am in desperate need of a new winter jacket. I didn't want to purchase one last year because I was pregnant. I thought it would be a waste since I was going to gain a lot more weight, so I held of until this year.

Here are some of my top picks:

Aritzia- Talula Ladbroke Coat- $198

Ashlynn's Baptism + 3 Giveaways!!!

Last month our sweet baby girl was baptized. It was such a perfect day! I still can't believe she is already 4 months old. I try to enjoy every moment I can with her because time just flies by so fast. She is going to be a toddler before we know it!

These were the invites. I purchased them from Tiny Prints. They have an amazing selection of designs, plus the quality of the cards are great. I love ordering from them!

We had her baptized at the same church that we got my son baptized at. She was also the same age- 3 1/2 months. It's great when they are so young because they sleep through everything- makes the ceremony and dinner at the restaurant so much easier. lol

We had both Godparents come to our place for lunch before the ceremony so we could give them their gifts and take some pictures. We also had my mom and Nonna (Grandma in Italian) come at the end so I could get a quick picture of them holding Ashlynn in the dress I was baptized in and the dress my Nonna was baptized in. I also had her wear the bracelet and cross pendant that I wore when I was baptized. I love sentimental things like that. Such great memories for all of us.

I wanted to enjoy the day with everybody and not have to worry about taking pictures, so I hired a photographer- Ashley from Ashley Topping Photography. She is amazing! We have used her on many occasions and we have never been disappointed.

Once the ceremony was complete we all headed to Kelsey's Restaurant for the reception. I can't begin to tell you how pleased I was with their service. I had such a great experience! The General Manger and Manger of the location I went to were super nice and so accommodating. They always answered my emails promptly and made sure the day of the event went perfectly. They did an amazing job!

The food was great and everyone had so many options to choose from. The servers were always on top of everyone's drinks and always went around the tables to make sure everyone had everything they needed.

For any family event I usually make my own desserts- the cake, cookies, cupcakes etc. Well this time around I chose to leave it to the experts because the last cake I made was quite embarrassing. Plus, now I had 2 kids to look after and I was afraid I wasn't going to have the time. I am so glad I did because it took so much stress off my shoulders! All I did was buy some candy, cut up food and added some flowers in a vase and left the rest up to the experts!

I purchased the cake from We Bake Cakes. Doreen did a fantastic job. She always replied to all my emails promptly and was very accommodating as to what I wanted. She does all types of cakes for all occasions such as weddings, birthday parties, baptisms, baby showers etc. She also does cupcakes and cakepops.

The cookies and cupcakes I ordered from Tammy at Cupcakes Under Cover. Her work is incredible. She does everything from cakes to cookies to cupcakes. She also rents out stands and towers either with or without an order from her. I love the attention to detail she puts in all her work. I will definitely be ordering from her again.

Colette Grand Café

Have you ever been to a café in Paris? If not that's ok. Just check out Colette Grand Café and you'll get an idea! This newly-opened French restaurant is at the base of the Thompson Hotel and it's just stunning! Definitely my new favourite place! Under the Chase Hospitality Group umbrella, this upscale Parisian-inspired restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and a bakery counter with baked goods to go.

I first heard of Colette Grand Café at a recent event that I went to in the summer- SMUT Soirée 2014.  It was part of their #TourDeColette marketing promotion where they had bicyclettes and a food truck touring the city giving out samples of their food leading up to their opening.

Colette Grand Café opened in July and it was on my list of places to try for 2 months. So finally, last weekend my husband and I stopped by for dessert and drinks and it was amazing! We will be back for dinner that's for sure. The restaurant is divided into many different sections- main dinning area, library lounge, bar, bakery and 2 outdoor patios.

I just can't stop thinking about the décor- its so pretty. Beautiful chandeliers, french doors, marble floors, the fabrics on the furniture. So elegant. The attention to detail is just incredible.

Their bakery serves everything from fresh juices, specialty coffees, teas, breads and pastries. They even have house-made granola, quiches, croissants and the BEST macaroons!!

I have to say the service was really amazing! I give them an 11 out of 10. We were seated right away, and our server came over shortly there after. He explained each dessert on the menu in great detail to help us make a decision. He recommended the Soufflé Aux Framboises ($14). It takes about 20-30 mins because it's made on order, but it's totally worth it! It was so good! We also got the Riz Au Lait ($10)

While we were waiting for our desserts we decided on 2 café lattes and some of their incredible maccoons! OMG they were so good. The bakery had already closed down for the evening, but our server was nice enough to grab some for us from the back. I love maccoons and they had so many varieties to choose from.

You really need to check out this restaurant, it's truly unique. I recommend making a reservation in advance because they do book up. To make a reservation, visit their website HERE

If you are ever hosting an event, keep in mind they offer catering as well. Click HERE for more details.

I want to try their Sunday brunch next! It's a buffet. Cost is $54 a person and $27 for kids ages 2-12.
