Review: Charcoal Rescue Masque by Dermalogica!

To be perfectly honest with you, I have never tried a masque before. I know, shocking right? lol So, when I found out Dermalogica launched a brand new masque earlier this month, I thought it was the perfect time for me to try it!

The new product is called Charcoal Rescue Masque. It's an all-in-one, detoxifying treatment. It also exfoliates the skin! It improves dull, tired looking skin and brightens it as well.

To use it is pretty simple.

First , I washed my face using the Special Cleansing Gel by Dermalogica. Next, I applied the Charcoal Rescue Masque to my entire face and throat, avoiding my eye area. I left mine on for the full 10 minutes, but it does say 7-10 minutes on the back of the product so you can decide how long you wish to leave it on for.

Once it starts to dry, you can definitely feel your whole face tighten up as it hardens. My son walked in my room when my masque was on and he laughed at me, but I couldn't even laugh back, lol!

Next, I wet my hands and started to gently massage my face and neck to boost exfoliation properties while removing the masque.  Then, I wet a face cloth and went over my whole face and neck again, removing the product fully off my face.

Finally, I apply my moisturizer afterwards. I use the Intensive Moisture Balance by Dermalogica. I found that my skin was a bit dry after the masque, so adding the moisturizer felt really good on my skin.

Here is how it looked on my face before it started to dry:

I have been using the Charcoal Rescue Masque for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it! I apply it once a week before bedtime. I can't believe what I have been missing out on all these years! My skin feels so soft. It also looks so much brighter and healthier than it did before too. I find my pores look smaller, and I notice less blackheads on my nose as well.

If you're interested in the Dermalogica line, you can read the other 2 reviews I did here and here. You can also check out their website here to see the full list of products they carry, find a store nearest to you, or to purchase product online.

Crochet Tunic

Dynamite-Crochet Tunic Top (Similar)      Aritzia- Black Leggings        Shoes- Suzy Sheir (similar)

As I pack my heavy sweaters away, I start to slowly add some new spring clothing to my wardrobe. This top I purchased from Dynamite at the Oshawa Centre, and it's super cute and comfy. It's perfect to layer over leggings! I found it was a bit see through , so I just put a white tank top underneath and it looks great. I also love the 3/4 sleeves!

How cute is the crochet detail on the top? That's what sold me. I thought it looked so pretty and different from other tops that I own.

Unfortunately, this top is sold out online, but there might be some left at a store closest to you. If not, here is another top that is pretty similar that they carry.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Farrow & Ball Launches 9 NEW Colours #MyFavouriteNewColour

Have you ever heard of Farrow & Ball? They have a beautiful line of paints and wallpapers. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the brand, let me give you a little background on them because it's pretty interesting.

Farrow & Ball was founded in 1946 by John Farrow and Richard Ball in Dorset, England. Their passion for making paints rely on original formulas, age-old methods and using only the finest ingredient and high levels of pigment and rich resin binders to produce their signature colours. Even their wallpapers are original, they don't use ink . They use traditional block and trough printing methods with their richly pigmented paint to produce the finest quality wallpaper and make each design unique and beautiful.

I love that all of their colours have their own back story behind it's name. For Example, the inspiration behind the Stiffkey Blue colour was from the mud found at Stiffkey beach in Norfolk, England!

Watch this short clip:

Farrow & Ball has a total of 132 colours in their paint collection which includes their 9 new colours they launched for 2016.

Top row from left to right: Shadow White |  Drop Cloth |  Salon Drab  | Worsted
Bottom row from left to right: Cromarty |  Peignoir  |  Yeabridge Green  |  Inchyra Blue  |  Vardo

Now Farrow & Ball has challenged me to choose my favourite new colour from the 9, and create a moodboard explaining my inspiration behind it. Well, right away I knew which colour I would choose- VARDO! I have a similar teal colour as an accent colour throughout my whole house and I absolutely love it!

Here is my moodboard. I kind of went for a more beachy look. I like how it looks so fresh and clean. Using neutral colours makes it feel very light and airy. Then having the accent colour of vardo gives it a nice pop of colour that isn't too overpowering. I don't like too much colour in a room. I tend to lean more towards neutrals and use the darker colours as an accent. This look would look so nice in a living room, family room or bedroom. I would paint the walls in the cream colour (Matchstick No. 2013) and do an accent wall in the Vardo.

CLEAN Reserve- Blonde Rose

Have you ever heard of the brand called CLEAN? I had not, until last week when I received this bottle of perfume in the mail. They not only sell perfume for men and women, but they also carry other fragrances for the body such as Body Lotions, Deodorants, Shower Gels and Hair Care Products. They also sell a line of Home Fragrances as well like Candles, Diffusers and Room & Linen Sprays.

In January, CLEAN launched a new line called CLEAN Reserve which consists of 9 unisex scents: Blonde Rose, Sueded Oud, Terra Woods, Smoked Vetiver, Amber Saffron and Velvet Flora , as well as Reserve Blends of its most popular traditional scents Skin, Rain and Warm Cotton. What's great about all these scents is that they can each be worn on their own or blended with another scent to make it more personalized. It even gives you which other fragrances to pair it with on the box.

All are eco-conscious fragrances, blended with raw, sustainable ingredients. You have heard the phrase "farm to table." Well CLEAN Reserve is a "farm to bottle collection" with sustainable ingredients such as saffron, spiced herbs, wild moss, birch, patchouli and leathery wood. Plus, all their fragrances are manufactured in a facility that uses 100% solar energy!

The packaging and look is beautiful. I love the wood cap! It's sourced from Spain, and the wood is from certified  sustainably managed forests. Plus, the glass bottle is 100% recyclable.

The scent I have is Blonde Rose. The Description on the box says: Inspired by an escape to a warm bubble bath infused with rose petals and a day dream.  With notes of rose, peony, jasmine, musk & sandalwood.

As soon as I sprayed some on neck and wrist I smelled the musk right away, but once it was on for a few hours the scent became very soft and I started to smell the floral. I think the floral scent goes really well with the musk.

I love that this scent is so different from all the other perfumes I have. It feels more modern, mature and sexy. I also love that it's such a fresh scent- very pretty.

Review: Schick Intuition Razor

I received the Schick Intuition Razor a couple of moths ago in a grab bag at an event, and I couldn't wait to jump in the shower to test it out when I got home. I am a shaver, not a waxer, so anything that looks quicker, easier and cuts my shaving time in half, is worth trying in my books.

What I love most about the Schick Intuition Razor is that I don't need to buy any shaving cream- one less thing I need to keep in the shower. It actually comes with a moisturizing bar surrounded by a 4 bladed razor. The moisturizing bar that came with mine was in the "Shea Butter" scent. In this kit, the razor blade was included, but when it runs out you do need to buy refills. They come in packs of 3 or 6 in all different kinds of scents.

To start using it was pretty simple. All you need to do is attach the moisturizing bar/ razor to the handle, get it wet and you're ready to go. In one easy step the bar starts to lather, shave and moisturize all at once. I liked that the razor was very light weight and not heavy. It also has a good handle to grip when shaving. I also found that the moisturizing bar lasted a long time as well.

When I am done shaving my legs, they feel so soft and smooth. I never see any nicks or cuts. I love skipping the step of shaving cream, it just makes my shower routine go that much faster!! Where has it been all my life?!

I also think this razor is perfect for traveling since it's a razor, and shaving cream all in one. It's nice and small and easy to pack!
